JAMES H HILL & THOMAS DISMUKES record book “L” pages 911 & 912 Macon County Alabama James H Hill & Thomas Dismukes The State of Alabama Macon County This indenture made and entered into this Seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty between James H Hill and Ann E Hill his wife of Macon County and Thos J Dismukes of Barbour County all of the State of Ala, witness, that the said James H Hill for and in consideration of the sum of Sixteen Hundred and fifty dollars to us in hand paid the receipt when of is hereby acknowledged has bargained sold and conveyed unto the said Thos J Dismukes his heirs and assigns the following described land to wit. The North half of the South West quarter of Section Twenty Seven also the South East quarter of the North West quarter of section Twenty Seven with the exception of Seven acres more or less lying on the East side of a ditch running through the said quarter of quarter Section previously sold to E Dismukes all in Township Seventeen (17) Range Twenty five (25) in district of land subject to sale at Montgomery. to have and to hold with the said Thos J Dimukes hi heirs and assigns forever with all and singular the rights and ?assessed finances thereunto belonging to the said Thos J Dismukes and we the said James H Hill and Ann E Hill will warrant and forever defend the same free from all the lawful claims of all other persons whatsoever in witness when of we have herewith set our hands and seals this the day and date above written James H Hill {seal} Ann E Hill {seal} The State of Alabama Macon County I Josiah Sanford an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said county hereby certify that James H Hill and Ann E Hill whose names are signed to the foregoing conveyance and known to me acknowledged before me on this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance they executed the same voluntarily on the same date.
