So many of you Hills are so lucky to be able to go back as far as the 1600's and 1700's in your family research. I can't really get past my grandfather. Mayby this time my posting will bring me some news. This is all I know: My grandfathers name was Howard Francis Hill. DOB 8-14-1899 in Berkeley, California, County of Alameda. He was in the Navy and Navy Reserves. His father is Edward Hill (no middle name) and his mother was Josephine Wilmowtt (I don't know if the spelling of her last name is correct.) He passed away in Portland, Oregon 9-4-1958. He was married to Laura Marion Hansen. They were married in Illinois and later moved out to California with their daughter Laura Marion Hill. I have found the name of Arthur Hill but I have no idea is he is a brother or uncle. Any information would be very helpful. Thank You, Karen
