    3. Most of the people on AOL that I've sent the gedcoms to, have written back saying they couldn't view them because they arrive in mime format. This seems to have something to do with AOL's setting for receiving attachments and I don't know how to change it. So for those of you who already belong to AOL and want to find the Hill gedcoms, here's how: Once you've signed on to AOL, use the 'keyword' button and type in roots . That will take you to "The Genealogy Forum." From there, click on 'Files', and that will take you to the library. You can then check 'New File Uploads' and 'New File Uploads GEDCOM' on the left side. On the upper right side is 'Ancestors Gedcoms, lineages, tafels, pictures'... this is where the older gedcoms, etc. are. From there you can select to print out the description of the file you want and select it for download. From 'download manager' (on the upper bar of your AOL, I think it's under 'My Files' you can select where you want the files downloaded to, if you want them automatically unzipped, etc. If you select to have the files displayed by subject, it will be easier to locate them. In order to find them, here's where the various Hill gedcoms are: date 4/10/98 subject Hill (SouthernPA) date 1/8/97 subject Hill/Mills/Hudson/Tessenear (NC) date 8/3/96 subject Hill/Hendricks/Finley date 8/8/96 subject Hill/Hendricks/Finley date 7/3/95 subject Hill/Lewis/Stewart/Looper date 12/3/96 subject Hill/Twitchell/Riggs/Waller date 3/14/98 subject Hill (Slaughter) date 4/22/96 subject Hill/Davis/Boyington/Nolan The dates above will help you determine which Library it's in. Library 1 will have the oldest dates and Library 7 will have the newer dates. Sorry that you have to find them yourself, but AOL's setting make it a waste of my time and yours if I try to send them to you.
