I recently found a date of death that a couple of us were looking for plus his middle initial in Letters of Administration 1859 - 1912 at the Montgomery County Courthouse. page 302. State of Arkansas County of Montgomery The State of Arkansas, To all persons to whom these presents shall come - Greeting: Know Ye, That whereas JOHN L. HILL of the county of MONTGOMERY died instate, as it is said, on or about the 5 TH day of AUGUST A.D.,1880 having at the time of his death personal property in this said State, which may be lost, destroyed, or diminished in value, if speedy care be not taken of the same; we do hereby appoint MARY A. HILL of the County of MONTGOMERY Administrator of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were the said JOHN L. HILL at the time of his death, with full power and authority to secure and dispose of the said property according to law; and collect all moneys due said deceased, and in general to do and perform all other acts and things which are or hereafter may be required of him by law. I do have a copy of the index for Montgomery Co. Note: Mary A. Hill nee Fryar b. born 03 May 1855 in AR, the daughter of Thomas FRYAR and Polly SHIRLEY. John is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery near Pencil Bluff, AR. Mary is buried at the Grenade Cemetery. Her second marriage 29 Oct 1893 was to Benjamin Franklin LEONARD.
