Hi list members-- Desperately need to find information on my James B. Hill born circa 1816 in (? NH) Some records state born in Dalton (?NH). James and his family documented on census 1860 of Penobscot County, Patten, Maine. Need to find out birth, marriage and death, information of James B. Hill. I have no idea what happened to his children, other than John H. Hill who died in Boston in Sept. 1922. Can someone assist with these Maine records. Library in Lewiston is saying they need $10 deposit and then it's $40 per hour for search. Patten Town Clerk never responded to letter written for information over 2 months ago.
