David Gammon just sent me a delightful newspaper article written by Miss Lena Smith in 1929 about Hill's Ferry (the home of the Hills) and mainly about Mr. Hill's political life in Revolutionary Days......he was also a delegate to the Continental Congress. The home was across the Roanoke in Martin (now Halifax County). He was the son of John Hill and Martha Whitmel of Bertie County.... If anyone is interested, I'll be happy to share the material...
