Hi Richard and other list members - I have a parallel track for my HILL family. Do you know what county in NY? I have a James Melvin HILL who was born 19 March 1819 in Lewis County, NY (east of Watertown) living in Erie County, OH in 1844 where he married Sarah M. PATCH. She was born in CT. James Melvin HILL's father was Ebenezer B. HILL. James' mother and siblings are unknown. James and Sarah moved from OH between 1847 and 1850. I wonder if it is possible that Stephen Hill (the elder) and Ebenezer B. Hill were brothers?
