I have been (for 2 years) trying to find the parents of my Gr-Gr-Grandfather and Mother: Thomas HILL believed to be born March 1, 1821 in KY and Amy May (Mae) TUCKER b: 12/31/1826 in OH. Hi Hills, My ancestor(s) Michael Hill was born in Ohio Territory in 1801. His wife Sara J. Bost was born in Columbiana, Ohio in 1806. They were married in Stark County, OH on Sept 15, 1825. I am road blocked trying to find any information on their parents...other that their names and birth dates. All I know from family notes is that his parents were William Hill and Susanna Prine born in 1775,76. Hello All, I am looking for the parents of Stephen Hill who was born about 1790, possibly in CT. He married Laura Spencer in 1814 in Syracuse, Onondaga County, NY. The 1880 Census indicates that the parents of both Laura and Stephen were born in CT. Laura was born before 20 Feb 1793. They had 4 children, Polly C., Lucinda Leach, James M. and Stephen Spencer. My main person of interest is Nancy Hill b: 1852 in AR. She married a Samuel Kelly in Water Valley, MS. I have come to an uneducated guess that she is the daughter mentioned of this Henry Hill. Looking for information on the descendants of ISAAC HILL of Chowan and Johnson Cos., NC, who was in Habersham Co., GA by 1821. Much of his family history is documented in "The Hills of Wilkes Co., GA" found in most genealogy libraries, however, very little is mentioned of Isaac HILL and his family. I am told that Isaac HILL was a grandson of Henry HILL, and a son of Abraham HILL (b/c1697/98 Nansemond Co., VA, d/1760 Chowan Co., NC), and Judith HINTON (b/c1708 Chowan Co., NC). Isaac had siblings named Henry (1730 - 1804) m/Sarah COTTEN; Abraham (1732 - 1792) m/Christian WALTON; Theophilus (1740 - 1825) m/Teresa THOMAS; Sarah m/Jacob HUNTER; and Mary m/Mr. EASTON. Isaac HILL first married Anna HARRISON and had a son named Amos (d/c1858). Amos moved to Moore Co, NC by 1810 - 1815 and was named overseer of a road there. By 1821 he had moved Habersham Co., GA. His wife Mary died shortly after 1840 and Amos married Elizabeth SMITH, widow with grown children. Isaac's HILL's second wife was Elizabeth SING (according to his Rev War pension). It is assumed that Hinton A. HILL was a son of Isaac and Elizabeth. Isaac and son Hinton moved to Habersham Co., GA before 1821, where Hinton was Sheriff for about 6 years and Isaac was one of the first Justices of the Inferior Court. Hinton A was in TN. by 1830.
