    3. Re: Old Methodist Church Cemetery in Lincolnton NC: I have been to this cemetery. We went over to the "new" Methodist Church in Lincolnton and they gave us the key to get in, however when we got to the gate we found that it was unlocked anyway. The ground is very soft and we felt we were going to sink into a grave at anytime...kind of creepy. The church secretary was wonderful. She gave us a book on the history of the church. I am just now leafing thru it again and see there is a wonderful 4 page history on your Rev. Hill and his family. While I am a Hill, to my knowledge I am not related to your Rev. James Hill. My gg Aunt is buried in the old cemetery and I was doing research for a book on her family. My gg grandparents along with other members of the family had been buried there also, but like many others in this cemetery they were dug up and moved to other cemeteries when the old Methodist Church moved. The book also contains a list of everyone buried in the old cemetery. I'll offer to copy my book and send it to you but if you're related to Rev. Hill I know you'll want a nice copy of the book because of the article on Rev. Hill and will probably write the church for one. Let me know if I can be of more help. 1. Hill of Mass, NY, Ohio
    2. Entry to RollCall: I'm another descendant of John Hill (c1600-1664) and Frances Tilden (c1608-1676) who came from County Somerset and settled in Dorchester, Mass in 1633. Through "John Hill of Dorchester, "the Great Migrations" study, census, etc. I have names & approx. dates to the present generation. Where it gets VERY CONFUSING, however, is around 1815 when my line, led by Caleb and Rebecca ?Rose Hill settled in Ohio with multitudes of sons & dters. SO I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE LOOKING AT ANY SURNAMED HILL IN LICKING, DELAWARE, & PERHAPS MUSKIGUM CO, OHIO FROM 1815 TO PRESENT. My most intractable brick wall is GGG Grandfather John Hill, oldest son of Caleb & Rebecca, reportedly born 1779 in Wallkill, NY, who married Nancy PIKE in Luzerne County, Penn; they seemingly made their way on to Ohio where she died, reportedly in 1820 and he reportedly in 1853, both in Licking County, Ohio. I have NO documentation for these dates or for any of their reported three sons: Abram, John, and Caleb. Anyone????? PS. Aside from the John/Nancy conundrum, I do have a lot of material from solid sources and cemetery photos; certainly willing to exchange!
