Since I live in Canada now I was curious if anyone knew of this line in my family. Gillian Floyd
Looking for any information about an Elizabeth Hill who was married to Richard Studdard. I know of only 3 children born to Elizabeth and Richard: Marie E. born about 1823, William S. born about 1836 and Milton H. born about 1837. (Richard is not to be confused w/ the Richard Studdard who is listed w/ Charity Linville Studdard & who identifies his father as John in the deed when he sells his 150 acres to is step father, Thomas Campbell the overseer of the Linville "Plantation" in 1824.) Thanks ~ Gloria

Who is Mary Hill, b 1779-1780 CT? Mary Hill m. George Fredrick Vanarnum between 1800 and 1807, the year they had their first recorded son, Theodore, born in VT. Daughter born 1814, VT, went usually by Marcia or Mary. George was the son of New Hampshire grantee Isaac Vanarnum. Isaac was one of the first in Pownal, then in Shelburne VT. He married Sarah, the daughter of Moses Pierson, accompanied Ira Allen on his exploits, and was named by the British as in the company of those who rescued the kidnapped Remember Baker. In 1800 George lived in Willsboro, Essex, NY. Hills also living there then include Solomon and Josiah Lewis Hill, both I think from Middletown, Middlesex, CT. Solomon had a daughter Mary b 1779 but researcher Carol Paprocki reports undocumented evidence that Mary and sister Elizabeth married the sons of an itinerant preacher surnamed Trew. In 1810 he and Mary are living in Shelburne, Vt. Other Hills living there then include Samuel Hill (01101-00101) living 2 "doors" from George and Mary, a James Glass/Glaze living between them. Also, in Charlotte: John Hills, Lewis Hills; Also in Shelburne: 2 Zimri Hills in Shelburne, one of whom is living next to George's brother-in-law Uzual Peirson and one door away from his brother Miles. Same page: Kilburn and Phineas Hill. After the summer that wasn't (1816) the Vanornams sold their property in Shelburne, VT, and moved west to Richland and Knox Counties OHIO. George and Mary only moved as far as Farmington, Ontario, NY, where he was in manufacturing (1820 census). Other Hills there: Ephraim Hill 45+, Reuben Hill 26+, and John Hill 26+, are living side by side in Farmington. I can't make a definitive identification of these Hills. In 1822 Isaac died, naming George in his will. George and Mary moved to Richland County Ohio to claim their land inheritance. 1830-Richland Co, OH 1840 ??? 1850 - Randolph Co, IN living next to son Theodore. 1860 - Theodore has moved to Kansas. No George and Mary. Can't find death record or cemetery record in Randolph Co. Does this fit with anyone else?? Linda Schwenn
Janni Hill, Don't forget that in times past it was thought to be "not religeously correct" to Name your daughter "Mary" so many of the "Polly's" were really named Mary but the records get lost at some point. May be worth looking into in this case. David Hill
Updating my files-do I have a conflict of parents or did two different Polly Hill's marry a Gibson? Polly Hill dau of William Hill Jr. and Elizabeth Halbert Polly Hill dau of Thomas Hill and Catherine Shropshire
