    3. My Hill forebears did not include Stephen so far as my fading family tree from 1923 shows. It starts with Isaac born about 1740 and his 5 sons. Three of the sons, including Epraim migrated about 1812 from Litchfield Co., CT to what was then Ohio, later Chenango Co. N.Y. Ten years later again migrated to the wilds of Paqinted Post No. One, now called Caton. My tree follows the descendants of Ephraim, and not his brothers; Luke, VanAger, Isaac, or Seth. It has been published in a book about which I have no information. These Hills had family reunions til 1923 in Caton and researched the tree produced then. Best regards, Bob

    1. [HILL-L] J.N.Hill told by a member of the Anderson family
    2. "I was born on December 25, 1893 in Indian Field Kentucky. Five years later I arrived in Culberson North Carolina. This I recall very vividly. My mother, a brother , charlie and sisters. We came from New Harmony Indiana, needing a home, the children were given for adoption. Martha Hyatt Bruce asked for my sisters and Aletha Hyatt Anderson adopted me. These ladies were sisters and were daughters of Hezekiah Burchfield and Zinnia Hyatt. The Hyatt family was among the first settlers of Culberson. They came after a narrow gauge of railroad called the M & N G (Marietta and North Georgia) had been established. Later this line was known as the L & N Railroad. A depot and telegraph service were begun and I recall the first depot agent and telegrapher was Mrs. Arra Fain. Later a teenager, Julius N. Hill of Murphy served in this capacity. The young depot agent went on to medical school and served as the Cherokee County physician and had a good family practice until his death>" Kathryne Deadrick Bayless married Dr. J.N. Hill.

    3. I have been swamped with requests for the 8 Hill gedcoms. I will send them to everyone who has requested them, but please be patient as it will take a while. Also, some people have written asking if it has a certain Hill or Hills from a certain area.... I have not looked at the gedcoms so I don't know who is on them. But I do know that they include Hills from: N.C., Ga., MA., England, Va., S.C., southeastern and central North Carolina, Ireland, PA., and Louisiana. Also, if you have WebTV, I cannot send you attachments. WebTV does not offer attachments as part of their service. So you'd have to find someone (neighbor or friend) who doesn't have WebTV that I could send them to for you. Jeanne
