    1. [HILL-L] HILL, William Jasper / Mary "Polly"
    2. Larry D. Kingsley
    3. My gg-grandfather is William Jasper HILL (b.15 Jan 1842) fr GA. He married Hettie Ann SHAHAN in Walker Co, GA. I have been unable to locate his parents. His father is ? HILL, b.? GA; married Mary "Polly" ? (b.abt.1813 in ?,GA). Friday, Oct 8, 1999 - Frances Moore posted a query concerning a John James HILL (b.1812) that married Mary "Polly" Cape (b.1815). She indicated that they had 8 children that lived in GA and that 2 of their sons (William and Aaron) were in the Civil War. My William Jasper HILL was in the Civil War (Co.I,35th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry). Just curious about the names submitted and the time line. We had "assumed" that William J.'s wifes surname was TOWNSEND but have not located ANY information to validate or dispute that. Perhaps Mary "Polly" CAPE and our Mary "Polly" are one and the same. Anyone know anything about this HILL family? LDKingsley - Gainesville, Texas kingsley@ntin.net

    1. [HILL-L] Has anyone seen this WANTED man
    2. Larry & Kaye Wallace
    3. Hill researchers, Has anyone see this man on the Ky or Tn census or anywhere with his family? HILL, JOSEPH Shields Oct 6, 1861 Sep 8, 1917. He is buried in Craighead Co., Arkansas, but where he was born is a mystery, the census states TN, but do not have any idea who whis parents were. He married a Fitzgerald girl that was born in Fentress Co., Tn., and later she and her family moved to Monroe, then Barren and on to Hart Co., KY. Lost her family from there. Census states Joseph's mother born in Tn, father in NC. Census and Toomb stone, which was "Woodman of the World" stone doesn't match date of birth on census. Joseph may have had two brothers, John, and Will. Joseph's children middle names were Shields, Jones, and Lee. These names are not on his wife's side of the family that I have found. Have not been able to find him on any documentation until 1889/90 tax records in Izard Co., Arkansas moving to Fulton Co., Arkansas. I have copy ! of a picture of him working on Railroad. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE THANKS IN ADVANCE. KAYE

Dated 12 Oct 1811. Wil: Thos Bowles, John Porter (John Potter?) First: is this the Isaac Hill who led the survey team into Ill?, was he back in Ky Oct 1811? What was the relationship of the Spivy, Hill, Gladish and Surgenon families? Was Williamsburgh the city in Virginia or was it the small city in northern Kentucky?. I believe a Hill, possible Basil, married a Surgenon, is this the same family. Would be interested in hearing from Isaac Hill searchers.
