    3. I have posted my website and have found some information on Jonathan and Susanna Hill who both married Warners. This information is posted at: http://users2.50megs.com/ourfamily/index.html Go to the updates section. Also after finding some Hill ancestors, those who relate to the Cook family through the Hills may find the COOK information listed on the updates page interesting. Just thought I'd let you know. 1. [HILL-L] Lena's message of desperation
    2. I sent the following to Lena in reply to her question about anyone finding anything. Sometimes it does feel as if everyone is finding lots of information and you're left out. I get discouraged, too. About that time, I find a treasure! Or, if I don't, I switch to another line for a short while to clear my head. Kinda like fishing - I keep several lines in the water. When one never bites, another might bob and get my attention. Try looking somewhere else - census records, or even send for a vital record, or look into a cemetery in the area. Or, even call the library in an area you think might apply and talk to a librarian. They might have a suggestion you haven't thought of...or a source. Worth a long distance call! Have you checked newspapers in the area, or compilations of newspaper notices? They are sometimes available. No matter what, don't give up. Oh, another suggestion - if you have census stuff, go back over it - you might have missed something. Or, do a search on your "brick wall" to see if something new has been submitted. Good luck - Jan Hall

    3. I am looking to connect Dr. Moses Hill to his proper ancestors. (Medical Doctor). Dr Hill was living in LaGrange County, IN in the early 1830s. His daughter Laura Hill married Washington Adams in LaGrange County in 1832 and his son Moses Jr married Nancy Martin in that same year. Dr. Hill and his family came from NY, but I do not know from which county. Do any of you have any information on my Hill family? Thank you for your help. 2. I have no source of information on the location of Epraim's birth. It seems reasonable to to extrapolate that Connecticut is likely. He married Charlotte Prince (b. December 10, 1781 & d. August 22, 1871) on April 7, 1803 and their second son (George J., ) was born August 21, 1805 at New Milford, Litchfield County. I have confirmed this birth from LDS records. The family moved about 1812 to what was then called the far west known as the state of Ohio. About 1822 they moved to the Painted Post area, now Caton, New York. 1. [HILL-L] M.O. HILL, SR and children, AR
    2. I have rec'd more information today which answers some of my own questions posed previously re: Milton Olliphant HILL, Sr. and children. It also raises some new ones. Apparently Milton did live in MO at some point in time, and the Laura Ann HILL who married George Washingtin HARDIN, was indeed the dau. of M. O. HILL, Sr. CLARK CO., AR COURT RECORDS Deed Book -Ralph Elkins and wife Sarah Jane Elkins sold property to M. O. Hill SE 1/4 of SW 1/4 section 10, 9 South Range 22 West, 40 Acres Sept 1857 for #320.00 (Milton O. Hill was a witness to William Elkins' will) Marriage HILL, M.O. - 52, - C. A. HILL, 29, 29 June 1868. E-113 HILL, Melon(?) O. 40 - Cynthia Ann SIMPSON, 20, 12 June 1859. D-108 NOLEN, James M., 35 - Adelan HILL, 18 - 3 Nov 1859. D-127 BARNES, J. G-353 Probate: Hill, Milton O. d. intestate. Letters of Admin were granted W. HARDIN and Celin S. HILL 18 July 1876. Heirs; Laura Ann HARDIN, wife of W. HARDIN; Adelia NOLEN, wife of J.M. NOLEN, Nevada Co., ; Josephine A. CAGLE, wife of A. W. CAGLE, Holloywood; Loretta H. RHODES, wife of A. C. RHOADES; Sabrah Ann CAGLE, wife of O.G. CAGLE; Medora HILL; and Cynthia A. HILL, widow (m. ______ HIGHTOWER before 17 July 1877) Index to Circuit Court Records, Clark County AR 1819-1878 HILL, Milton 161, 2416 HILL, Celin 3904 (one of executors of Milton estate) Note: After Milton Olliphant Hill's first wife Savory Ann COFFMAN died in Jan. 1858, he married again to a Cynthia Ann SIMPSON, age 20, June 12, 1859 in Clark Co., AR. What I find interesting is that apparently they were divorced somewhere along the line, and then remarried June 29, 1868 per the above marriage records. Is it possible they simply "renewed their vows"? Was that a custom back then? M. O. Hill d. July 15, 1876 and his widow Cynthia Ann HILL then married William M. HIGHTOWER, March 26, 1877. The other names in the marriage records above show all but one of M. O. and Savory Ann's daughters & who they married. Adelan Hill, 18, who m. James M. NOLEN in 1859, I believe to be Adelia or Abella Hill. (Have seen name both ways) Laura Ann Hill, b. Jan. 4, 1841 m. 1) George Washington HARDIN, Oct. 28, 1855 & 2) J. D. BARNES, Sept. 4, 1873. Savory Ann HILL, b. Feb. 9, 1856 (name is listed as Suvery Hill) m. Oliver CAGLE, July 5, 1874. I. A. HILL, 15, who m. A. W. CAGLE Jan. 12, 1868 I believe is J. A. (Josephine Aramath Hill, b. Nov. 30, 1852) L. H. HILL, 16, who m. A. C. RHODES March 20, 1870, is Lauretta Hunter HILL, b. March 21, 1854. The only daughter not accounted for would be Sarah Ann "Sallie" HILL, b. Nov. 4, 1846, d. at age 20 on Nov. 19, 1866 before she married, and is buried in Clark Co., AR. In the Probate records above I do not know for sure who Sabrah Ann, wife of O. G. CAGLE, is; likely another daughter by second wife and named widow, Cynthia A. HILL. I'm also guessing that Medora HILL is a dau. by Cynthia A. Hill who was young and still unmarried at the time of his death. I don't know the connection of Celin HILL who is one of the executors of Milton's estate. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm still looking for more on the son, Milton O. Hill, Jr. b. Jul 9, 1843. He d. at age 19 in Memphis, Shelby Co., TN in Oct. 21, 1862, I'm guessing he was killed while serving in the Confederate Army. Does anyone know whether he was married and left any children at the time? I'll be doing some more digging into this, trying to find a CSA record for him. 1. [HILL-L] Milton Olliphant HILL , b. 1816, descendants
    2. I had the following sent to me by a volunteer who does lookups for Clark Co., AR. "Clark County, Arkansas - Past & Present" published 1992 by the Clark County Historical Association on page 521 has an article on GEORGE WASHINGTON HARDIN. "On 28 Oct 1855, he married Laura Ann Hill, the daughter of M. O. and SARAH ANN HILL of Cape Girardeau County, MO." My question is, does anyone know if Milton Olliphant Hill, Sr., b. 1816 GA, (son of Rev. Allen Hill and Anna Parham) ever lived in MO? His parents moved from GA to TN to MS to AR, but I've never seen mention of MO. Milton O. HILL was their eldest son, b. in GA, married Savory Ann COFFMAN Dec. 1837 in TN, d. in Clark Co., AR July 15, 1876. His wife d. in Clark Co., AR Jan. 29, 1858. Milton Olliphant HILL, SR. and Savory Ann did have a daughter named Laura Ann Hill, b. Jan. 4, 1841, which would have made her fourteen when she married (not that uncommon) IF she is the Laura Ann Hill referred to in the article above, who married George Washington HARDIN. Can anyone confirm this? (I'm also wondering if Savory Ann could have been called "Sarah". Milton and Savory Ann had another daughter they named Sarah Anna "Sallie" Hill) Thanks, Jackie ________________________________________________________________ Get FREE voicemail, fax and email at http://voicemail.excite.com Talk online at http://voicechat.excite.com

    1. [HILL-L] Melissa variants multiply
    2. Jay
    3. Melissa variants multiply, Melissa U, V and U(Gen 1) have destructive payloads MSNBC Oct. 18 - The Melissa virus, which first struck in March, is continuing to mutate into new forms. Two more - Melissa U and Melissa V - were discovered last week by anti-virus firms. Both have more destructive payloads than their original namesake. Microsoft Word users who haven't updated their anti-virus software since Wednesday of last week are likely to be infected if they open a Word document infected with the virus sent via e-mail. And yet a third new variant surfaced this week. JUST HOW PROLIFIC Melissa has been is evident from the names of the variants - researchers, who name variants by added letters in alphabetical sequence, are about to run out. Melissa V attempts to trick victims into opening it by arriving with a personalized subject line: "My pictures" followed by the infected sender's user name, according to the Sophos anti-virus Web site. The message is empty except for an attached, infected Word document. The virus payload triggers immediately and attempts to delete data on several network drives. After infection, it attempts to send itself to the first 40 addresses in the victim's address books. Melissa U, discovered a few days earlier, contains the subject line "pictures," followed by the sender's user name. The message itself contains the text "what's up?" and the attached, infected document. It then attempts to delete critical system files, according to Network Associates' Web site. After infection, the virus sends a copy of itself to the first four available recipients in the address book. Anti-virus software users should download the latest virus definition files from vendors to protect themselves from the virus. Several companies have been hit by yet another new variant of Melissa, but anti-virus experts are downplaying the strain's potential threat to businesses. The new variant, called Melissa.U(Gen 1), has hit one U.S. company with 30,000 computers, according to Symantec Corp.'s AntiVirus Research Center. Because the virus is a corrupted version of Melissa.U, it's been flying under the radar screen of some anti-virus software. Symantec posted new software that protects against it on Monday, and Trend Micro said its software already detects the virus. Like the original Melissa, Melissa U(Gen 1) has the ability to replicate by sending itself out to other e-mail addresses. Unlike Melissa, it deletes some system files. Like U, Melissa U(Gen 1) comes in an e-mail with the subject line "pictures" and a body containing the words "what's up?" When a person using Microsoft Corp.'s Outlook messaging software opens or views the attachment contained in the e-mail, the virus will replicate itself, sending four copies to addresses listed in that person's Outlook address book. (Microsoft is a partner in MSNBC.) In addition to sending itself out, it will also delete some system files and spread the original Melissa.U virus to other documents on that person's computer. Anti-virus experts aren't sure yet where the virus originated, or whether it is a man-made corruption of the Melissa.U virus or an accidental strain. "We're debating whether it was generated to avoid detection ... or it just happened," said Symantec's chief anti-virus researcher Carey Nachenberg, adding that he thinks it was created by someone to wreak havoc. Some anti-virus experts say this strain isn't as dangerous as other high-profile viruses that have surfaced in the past year. For example, Melissa.U(Gen 1) doesn't replicate as quickly as the original Melissa virus, which sent itself to 50 addresses, causing systems at companies including Microsoft Corp. and Boeing to crash. Also, the virus doesn't overwrite files and make them unrecoverable, as the ExploreZip worm did. Instead it deletes files, which can be restored. Dan Schrader, of Trend Micro, said companies have a better handle on these virus strains than they did on the original Melissa, partly because that virus made people more wary of e-mail attachments. He said only a half dozen companies have mentioned the virus to his company. "We've had a scattering of reports from our customers that they've encountered it, but we're not seeing a deluge," he said. "It's not time to head for the hills and pack up the canned goods." ZDNet contributed to this report.

His son Ephraim b. May 1778 d. July 24, 1832 is the only son of Isaac for which I have any information other than names. Ephraim's brothers were Luke, VanAger, Isaac and Seth The only source for this information is a family tree researched prior to 1923 with support from Hill family reunions at their farm near Painted Post (Caton) New York. 3. I am looking for proof Seth Hill DOB about 1776-1800 Connecticut, is the same as the Seth Stone Hill listed on LDS web site. From other research, I believe this Seth Stone Hill listed on the LDS site would have been the Son of Isaac Hill and Eunice Mallory. The Seth Hill I am researching, moved to Ohio after 1826, and then possibly to Indiana. This Seth Hill and his spouse Mary Ann, their children (Charles, Michael, Joseph, and Sarah Ann) show up in the 1850 Licking County Census of Ohio, but I cannot find them in the next census decade. This Seth Hill was married to Mary Ann (AKA Susan) Gorman, and is the father of Luke Hill DOB June 1826 (Penn), who was married to Mary Ann Myers DOB 1827 (Penn). I also believe this Seth Hill to be the father of Charles McNair Hill, DOB March 1830, Pennsylvania. (note; Luke Hill moved to Indiana and was listed on the Indiana 1850 census) The proof I am looking for is any type of documentation which proves the Seth Hill I am researching is in reality the same as Seth Stone Hill DOB 1776 as listed on the LDS site.
