I just started searching for my GGrandfather Edward Roy Hill and have been unable to find anything out about him. He was married to Minnie Lipe they lived in Kansas until the depression when they moved to California. They had 4 daughters: Mabel, Eula, Bonieva (Bonnie), and Virgie. Eula is my Grandmother. I would appreciate any help or direction anyone can offer.

According to a genealogy I have seen, Content Hills married Oliver Mann in Mulbury, CT in the 1790s. Oliver was born in Hebron. Does anyone out there have a Content HILLS in their line? Thanks, Mary

I spent a couple of hours, looking through 1880 Missouri Sondex for Hill.. There were only two Russell Hill, neither mine, but I did look under all names and abbrevations and none that I saw fit mine.... By the year of 1850 Luke would have been 24 years old, and his off spring would have already been born. This would explain why Luke Hill is not listed here in this census. This Mary Ann could well be the Mary Ann Gorman who is suspected as being the spouse of Seth Hill. The names listed in this census and Charles Hill's age matches this of the Charles Hill listing in the Seth Stone Hill lineage I located on the internet. However Mary Ann's age does differ from the Seth Stone Hill lineage by 2 years. This difference could be accounted for due to the months of actual birth as compared by month of census, and if the age at time of death was given in years, months and days, a computation error could have been easily made. 1830 US Census, Perry county, Hopewell Twp;, page 411, Edwards, Thomas. During this census, Luke Hill son of Seth Hill, would not have been born as of yet. I suspect this to be a brother of Seth Hill Sr. Looks up in Ohio Found several federal census listings for the Hill's. One such listings were from the first census of the united states, in Pennsylvania. Their was a Luke Hill listed in French creek Township, showing One free white male over the age of 16 and one free white female. This information does not correspond to Luke Hill I am researching since this census was about 1830 which would put Luke at age 4 years old.

The mother of the family was living in Shakespeare Street Bradford, she died around 1954. Looking for Thomas J. HILL who was born abt 1824 in TN. He married Martha Ann ?? bef 1848 in MS. Martha was born abt 1834 in TN. They had the following known children; Lutitia Ann, Samuel C, Daniel P, and John. The children were born in Tippah CO, MS. Thomas may have died on Feb 1866 in Tippah CO, MS. I don't have a death date on Martha. SECOND GENERATION Thomas' sons, Daniel and John moved into the Indian Territory (OK) sometime aft 1880. They were living in the Le Flore CO, I.T. area by 1890's. Daniel married Elsemia "Elsie V. CHEEK on Oct 20, 1870 in Tippah CO, MS. Daniel and Elsie had the following known children; R. (female) 1872, Jefferson William 1875, and John 1877 in MS. Daniel died bef 1895. Elsie married a widower named Perry G. RUSSELL on Jun 20, 1895 in Cowlington Twp, Le Flore, CO, I.T. He had several children from his first wife; Jessee T. 1878, Odie E 1880, Philip J 1882, Martin L, 1889, and Leona 1891. John, Daniel's brother may have married a women named COTTON or DAVIS. Hill, Sr., building moving contractor of Princeton died yesterday afternoon in Memorial hospital of injuries received May 11 at Pocahontas where he had undertaken a building moving project. He was 64. Mr. Hill, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John R. Hill, was born at Abingdon, Va., January 18, 1887. In 1908 he married Miss Hattie Mills of Raleigh county, W. Va. He had made his home in Princeton since 1908. In addition to his wife he is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. B. B. Noble, John Edward Hill, Raymond M. Hill, Mrs. F. M. Searching for Information on a PRESTON HILL m. to POLLY JONES from Tennessee. He would have been born between 1836 & 1840 and moved to Owsley County, Kentucky ( he is listed in the 1870 census in Owsley County Kentucky.) He had 3 sons that I know of (all listed in 1870 census records) DAVID HILL born 1867 ( the youngest and my ggrandfather) Samuel Hill born 1859 approx Preston born 1863 approx David Hill married Nancy Jane Combs and had 9 children (Dora, chester, Squire, Preston, Lester, Lillie, Ruford, Henry and Edgar(Edward). I am looking for my g-grandfather John G. HILL born 22 Sept 1852 in or around Middletown PA. He died 11 May 1923 near Brasher Falls NY. He was married to Jesse Shampine and they had two children. He was enlisted in the Calvary during the Indian Wars. He was in Troop K 4th regt and was a corporal. Also I would like to find out were I can find records of enlisted men at this time.

Have found grave site for subject Hill but cannot find a census he was on. Richard Levi Hill born 1813 and died May 19, 1874; buried in Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church Cem., along side Annie b 1811 died 5/21/74. Marriage bond between Richardson Hill and Anna Cash dated 16th day of March 1835 in Person County.
