I haven't posted since the summer. I have a Joseph Washington Hill born May 10, 1781 who married a Margaret McKee in 1827. We think they married in Adams Co. PA. I know nothing about either of these people and evidently neither does anyone else. There is a rumor that their records were burned in a fire. If true, I guess I'm sunk. Has anyone ever encountered that roadblock. Or did these people really drop out of nowhere? Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. We've been searching for over 40 years, and now sadly, I am the only one left. Thanks Chris Hill Roberts

I am looking for the ancestors of Laura Hill who was the daughter of Dr. Moses Hill. Laura was born in NY State in 1815. Although the 1850 IN census shows her father as a Doctor, there is reason to believe that he was perhaps a fake one and dealt in herbs and popular cures of the period. In 1828/29 this Hill family was living in LaGrange County, IN. In 1832 Laura Hill married Washington Adams and in the 1850 census Washington and Laura were living in Legonier, IN with their three children: Mary J born in 1840, Moses born in 1842 and Martha born in 1846. In 1853 the family moved to Mt. Carroll, IL where in 1861 daughter Mary J. Adams married Andrew J. Christian. In 1863 Washington Adams died in Mt. Carroll. Widow Laura remarried a few years later. I do not know what happened to other two children, Moses or Martha Adams. I am looking for the ancestors of Moses Hill family who came from NY state. Hi Rhonda I have some Hills that were from Arkansas, who moved into Texas. They left behind their father and three sisters in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They can be found in the 1850 Scott County census. They were John Hill and his daughters Rhoda,b.) 1830....Hanah b.) 1840....and Patsy b.) 1842......Patsy will show up as Dotsy. Patsy married a Mr. Moore and had a son Luther. Patsy's niece from Texas Olive Kate married a Stewart Walker in Arkansas then moved back to Texas. Does any of these sound familiar to you. Donna
Still searching for given name of my ggg-grandfather. His given name is <?>, d. abt 1845; m. Mary Polly TOWNSEND. She was b. abt 1813 in <Georgia>. 1860 Census for Walker County, GA, Villanow Post Office: House #603 - Mary Hill 47, Jasper 18, Henry H. 16 {all born in GA}. The KNOWN children: William Jasper HILL, b. 15 Jan 1842, d. 16 Mar 1904 in Greenwood, Wise County, TX. and Henry H. HILL, b. abt 1844. William Jasper HILL is my gg-grandfather and we have family line from him down to present day BUT.... have been unable to determine his fathers given name. One source has suggested that William Jasper and Henry H. had a sister named Sintha {Cynthia}. Anyone have any connection to a HILL that might be in this family line? Have been stuck here for several years. Please respond to email address indicated. We have a personal family webpage that contains several family genealogy reports for your perusal IF IT MIGHT HELP. http://www.ntin.net/region2music/KINGSLEY Larry D. My information originated in the efforts of Ephriam Hill's family reunions. The latest that I know of was in 1923. If Ephriam was a younger brother of Seth (Stone?) Hill, then they both may have been sons of Isaac and Eunice Mallory.. My family tree has only an estimate of Isaac's birth as about 1740, the other brothers as Luke, VanAger, and Isaac. We have not established our Isaac's marriage. We do not know which two of the brothers migrated west with Epraim, but those two apparently were not in Caton,NY very long or more info probably would be available for them. My first attempt at preserving the fading family tree has been to enter it into Broderbund's Family tree maker. I would be glad to post it on a website, but have yet not acquiered the knowledge of how to do that. The file itself is 506KB as there are many collateral lines included Good Luck to all Hill researchers BUCKYBARB@aol.com wrote: > Hi Bob, I have old Hill info and do have Seth Stone Hill as the son of Isaac > & Eunice Mallory Hill.
