    3. Mary, I can't seem to make any connections right now. Your William is about the same age as My GG Grandmother Susan Jane. She was born to John Green and Amanda (MARSHALL) HILL in 1868. She was born in Wayne Co, Illinois. I don't have any info on John Green about his siblings or even where he was born. I do have that he was married in 1867 in Wayne Co, Il. Sorry I can't help much more, but I will take your note with me to my family gathering this month and see if my grandmother might reconize any of the names. I'll let you know. 1. [HILL-L] NH Hill Land Records
    2. Katherine T. Walter
    3. I just spent a couple days in New Hampshire tracking my Nathaniel Hill line and finally was successful in linking him to Valentine Hill of Dover. (More on this later!) During this process, I also copied the index of all Hill land records in New Hampshire up to 1771. There are 5 index cards per page and approximately 140 pages. They are organized alphabetically and not chronologically. Usually there is a brief description of place, parties, and relationship (if available). I'm willing to do limited look-ups on the index or for the cost of copying and postage I'll mail out a set to anyone interested. Kate.

    1. [HILL-L] Hills family Longmeadow/Enfield Area
    2. I am desperately seeking any information on the Hills family from the Longmeadow/Enfield area of Massachusetts and Connecticut. My line stops at a George Hills born between 1800-1810 according to censuses. He married Roxanna Pease daughter of Heman Pease and Roxanna Davis in 1835. They had a son George Newton Hills in 1836 in Enfield. Between 1835 and 1842, George was active in the Enfield town meetings. After 1842, there is no trace of him. No death record or garve has been found. His wife, remarried in 1847 to George Tuffs and moved to Longmeadow. George Newton Hills married in 1865 to Elizabeth Burlingame. Their children were Edward Carpenter Hills, Angelina Thayer Hills, Delbert Moon Hills, Lewis Seymore Hills and Harriet Hills. They were born in Longmeadow and Westfield, Massachusetts.

    1. [HILL-L] HILL family-CHITTENDEN County, VERMONT and KENTUCKY
    2. George Phillips
    3. Frederick Torrance Hill, a judge in Burlington, VT. (my gg-gfather) Jdg. Hill had 3 daughters: Anna became Mrs. Anna C. Durand, married to Charles Durand of Lake Forest, IL; Mary became Mrs. Terwilliger; and ROSAMOND Adela Hill who moved to Chicago. Then Rosamond married Col. Edmund Burke MacClanahan in 1884 (they were my g-gparents). Judge Hill's wife (don't know her name) was descended from the CHITTENDEN family. There is supposedly a family CEMETERY in UNDERHILL, Vermont. How did this branch of Hills get to Vermont? ROSAMOND was supposedly an old family name on the Hill side. Does anyone know anything of this branch? I'm at a dead end. The only thing I found in a search showed Anna C. Durand listed with siblings who weren't hers. She had no brothers. Another interesting fact--my grandmother (Rosamond Hill [MacClanahan's daughter])'s middle name was CALDWELL. Have found mention of a Rosamond Hill who died in Caldwell County, KY. There must be a connection. Rosamond is not a common name. Will be most grateful. Susie Phillips
