    3. I also would LOVE a hard copy of the book. Unfortunately, there are no more left. Mrs. Kuykendall said that he is very ill and that no more books will be printed. Anyone who wants what I have please let me know, as I can send them out to multiple persons at one time. It took several weeks to do this and several days to send the book out a few pages at a time. Each e-mail takes 5-10 minutes and I have hundreds. I will wait a couple of weeks and send them all at one time. There are over 500 pages of it and I scanned each document separately, and it is well documented. 3. W32/NewApt is an email worm discovered on Dec. 14, 1999. AVERT has given it a risk assessment of High. This worm arrives as an email attachment. The body of the email appears differently depending on whether the email client reads HTML. If it does, the email text looks like this: - --------------------------------------- http://stuart.messagemates.com/index.html Hypercool Happy New Year 2000 funny programs and animations... We attached our recent animation from this site in our mail ! Check it out - -------------------------------------- If the email client is not HTML-capable, the message reads: "he, your lame client cant read HTML, haha. click attachment to see some stunningly HOT stuff" The worm is in the attachment, which has a name chosen randomly from the following list: baby.exe, bboy.exe, boss.exe, casper.exe, chestburst.exe, cooler1.exe, cooler3.exe, copier.exe, cupid2.exe, farter.exe, fborfw.exe, goal.exe, goal1.exe, g-zilla.exe, irngiant.exe, hog.exe, monica.exe, panther.exe, panthr.exe, party.exe, pirate.exe, s.exe, saddam.exe, theobbq.exe, video.exe. If the worm is run, the following dummy error message appears: The dinamic link library giface.dll could not be found in the specified path [list of directory names] Note the misspelling of the word "dynamic". If the worm detects that Outlook Express is installed, it will search for messages received and build a list of addresses. The next time Windows is booted, the worm waits an unspecified amount of time and then attempts to send itself to one of the addresses in its list, using the format described above. 3. I was using up Ancestry.coms free offer and I found the following article listed that might clear things up a bit on the Ferris Hill/Samuel Hill I am researching. Historical and gen. rec. Dutchess and Putnam cos, N.Y. Poughkeepsie, 1912. (16, 467p.):p203 On the 1865 census, Ferris Hill put that he was from Putnam Co., as was his mother Hannah. Does anybody have access to this article? I would, of course, pay postage and copying costs. Vicki

    1. [HILL-L] Samuel M. Hill - TN
    2. On the 1850 Lincoln Co., TN census there was a Samuel Hill living in the household of Moses McWhorter. Next door was Hinton Hill and wife Mary Ann Sewel. Anybody have any information about this Samuel Hill? I'm still looking for clues on my ggrandfather, Samuel M. Hill who lived in Lincoln Co., TN. Still wondering if Samuel and Hinton were related. Thanks! Suzanne

    3. Hi Tammy, This may be a stretch but it may also be a clue. I have a Jane W. Hill (1804-1889) married Moses H. MAGANN (1808-1886) on 24 March 1829 in Amherst Co., VA. I cannot find anything on my Jane Hill but her husband's family is from Scotland. Another Magann researcher indicated that there were Magann's in VA during the Revolutionary War. I have not found parents or siblings of Moses in VA so not sure if his family was there then. I have found the Magann name spelled several different ways in vital records and census records - McGunn, McGann, Migann, Magan. My question/idea is maybe my Jane is the sibling of your Thomas W. Hill...maybe Jane was born in Scotland...maybe she had friends/family that knew the Magann's before she came over? Lot's of questions...now to find the answers. I'll let you know if I find anything. Regards, Kelley http://lilyeag.home.mindspring.com/surnames.htm Thomas W. Hill married Louisa Birch on 03-31-1834 in Pittsylvania County, VA. They had 9 children: James Osborne Hill, Alfred A. Hill (my g-g-grandfather), Richard Welden Hill, Henry Hamilton Hill, John Robert Hill, Betty Hill, Mary Hill, Virginia Hill and Missouri Hill. The only lead I have is that he may have come from Scotland.

    1. [HILL-L] Virus Notice with attachment .EXE
    2. Cliff Townsend
    3. List members, I received a virus yesterday. The following message will defind what happened. Sheryl, I got one of these messages too, with the title that I gave it to the KYDAVIES list, and yes, it had an attachment called Monica.exe. However, I noticed that both the To and From addresses were both mine (it did not go out to the list). I'll bet the one you got also said To and From yourself. Bottom line is that this indicates that someone on this list has a remailer virus. DO NOT OPEN AN ATTACHMENT THAT ENDS IN .EXE. That's the only way to make sure you are safe from executable viruses. So, for all of us, if you get an email both To and From yourself, with an attachement, NEVER EVER OPEN IT, DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY. Janet Janet, Thank you very much. This is so, I did get it "to and from myself". I do want to tell you that it changes it's name each time it goes out. Also, my virus scan did not detect the virus and it blocked all my incoming messages until we found it. We noticed unusual activity with our modem. We notified our server just in case it had attached to their data also. I hope this does not happen to any of you. It is our first experience with a virus. It is not pleasant. Everyone please take heed to this. thanks, sheryl

    1. [HILL-L] Hills in Florida
    2. Hi - I'm new to the list and just getting started. Am looking for Hill ancestors in North Florida. According to family lore, originally from Alabama. Have only my grandfather to start: Juney Ray Hill, b. 1900. The unusual first name was supposedly a "family name." Any help getting going would be greatly appreciated. Was unable to find a record of same in 1920 Florida census records. Valerie

    3. Dear Doris, Thanks for putting in a few words re: to the point subject lines; it helps so much to see at the beginning what the email will be referring to, general year(s) and geography. Most people have some kind of date and or location to go off of when starting their genealogy trails. Thanks and Happy Holidays Tammy Jay wrote: > DJ: > > The assumption is that the ones posting has that info. 3. I think that what she meant is to please include whatever you can so we can decide if we can help each other........ I know that it reallys helps to post anything that is pertinent to your family. I am researching Green Berry Hill, father of Martin Hill, who was 1st pastor of Ranburne Baptist Church in Cleburne County, AL. Green Berry Hill was buried at Gold Ridge Baptist Church, in Randolph County, AL. Martin Hill was father of Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Hill who married James Robert Kanady, then later married Richard Breed. Betsy Ann and James Robert Kanady had 2 children: Martin Hanse Kanady and Mary Ann Kanady. James Robert Kanady died in the Civil War. Mary Ann Kanady married William Elijah Cofield, had several children, one daughter, Parma Ethel Cofield, who was mother of my husband, Travis Skinner, born in 1938. If anyone else is researching Green Berry Hill and family, please let me know. Everyone have a GREAT CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
