    1. [HILL-L] Hill died in Franklin, NH need copy
    2. 4dehills
    3. Hi, Does anyone know for certain the cost of a death certificate?? My ancestor Fred B. Hill had lived in Sanbornton but moved to Franklin, NH one year before his death on April 27, 1928 at the age of 56. There is a large dispute over his middle name and need to document correct one (Benjamin or Brackett ???). Also would I send to Franklin City Clerk, Franklin Vital Records or elsewhere for this death in 1928. Thanks for a great past year. Donna and Gene in AZ

    1. Re: [HILL-L] Samuel Hill & Thomas Hill: Amherst Co. Va. Abt 1775-1825
    2. In a message dated 99-12-31 23:31:52 EST, you write: << I am looking for information as to the parents and siblings of Nathaniel Hill, born about 1740, died 1807 Amherst County. Nathaniel was married to Nanny/Nancy Parrish and they had the following children-Nathaniel, Elizabeth, George, John, Lucy, Nancy, William, Mary. >> Sam, thanks for your note. Doubt that I can help you, but here is all I know that is close. I have been trying to tie my Hills from Amherst down for several years and have finally undertaken to do a database of everything I've found on any Amherst Hill, including Taylor Mtn, Piney Mtn, Turkey Mtn., and you name it if its near the Blue Ridge. I found two court records in Amherst last week that seem to reflect what your email notes. That is: (1) Bond of John Jacobs dated Nov. 16, 1807 as personal rep. of Nathaniel Hill's estate; (2) Deed of trust to Aldridge by George Hill who was leaving for War of 1812 (never to return). Item (2) lists George's father as Nathaniel, brother Nathaniel, and sister Polly. Without trying to summarize all the disjointed data I have found, there appear to be at least four Hill fathers in the Amherst area in the mid 1700's: Nathaniel, John, Samuel, James, and in the last quarter of the century, Dabney, Joseph, Ezekial, Washington, Madison, Talliaferro/Toliver, Pleasant, William. One could speculate that there is a family connection between Nathaniel, John, Samuel and James. One souce suggests that James and his family came from Amelia County, Va. "Southside Virginia" would be consistent with the origin of other Amherst families, though Virginia was full of Hills by the mid 1700's and they could have just as easily come from the north and east of Amherst (e.g, Spottsylvania, Albemarle, Goochland). I would welcome any info that the Hill-Line members may have about the Hill families noted above, at least as to 1810 and before. Maybe if we put all the pieces together we can get somewhere. 1. [HILL-L] Samuel Hill & Thomas Hill: Amherst Co. Va. Abt 1775-1825
    2. I would like to correspond with anyone who is researching this family. Note that this Thomas Hill and Samuel Hill do not seem to be the children of Sgt. James Hill and Ann Overton. Samuel Hill, son of Thomas Hill, married Polly Moore in 1808 in Amherst County, Virginia. Samuel died about 1817. Polly remarried George Trible 1819. Samuel and Polly had four daughters: Betsey Hill, Jane Catherine Hill, Sally Hill, and Francis Hill. Polly Hill was daughter of William Moore (d. 1823) and Betsey Bridgewater. Thanks Sandy Rowe WLSRowe@AOL.com

    3. LARGENT CEMETERY http://www.hal-pc.org/~wibr/largent.html The Largent Cemetery is located in the Bethlehem Community, West of Lufkin, Texas, between Highway 94 West and Highway 103 West, on Ben Dunn road off of FM 706. These records were copied from information provided by Thomas Largent and from data obtained from the Kurth Library, Lufkin, Texas. Where no dates appear this is due to the persons having tombstones or purchased plots and are still living, in some instances the grave markers have been lost with the passage of time. Mr. William J. Largent was the first person to be buried in the cemetery. He was born on October 1, 1800 and died August 18, 1862. His wife Martha was born on January 16, 1803 and died in November 1865. At the time of their deaths the cemetery was located only on land that was owned by the immediate Largent family. Adjoining land was deeded by G. W. Dunn and W. E. Dunn in 1916 to the cemetery. In 1971, a portion of land was donated by Mr. & Mrs. D. H. Wood along with another portion belonging to heirs Mr. & Mrs. Howard W. Gann, Mr. & Mrs. Jack R. Wyeth, Mr. & Mrs. Leroy M. Williamson, Mr. & Mrs. Brice C. Gann and Mrs. Ina Berry. HILL, JAMES C. 1815 1901

    1. [HILL-L] Hill/Kiskaden Bracken Co., KY
    2. Herbert Hill
    3. Looking for any information about my Hill and Kiskaden families who lived in Bracken Co., KY. My gg-grandparents were George W. Hill. b. abt 1825 in OH or KY and Catherine Kiskaden (Cuscaden) b. abt 1826 in KY. George and Catherine were married in January 1847, in Bracken Co., lived in Clermont Co., on the 1850 census, then moved to Bracken Co. in the area of Snag Creek. George and Catherine had 13 children, all except one lived to be adults. Families the children married into were Fryman, Craycraft, Davis, Newberry, and Holford. The daughters were Frances who married Ellis Davis, Melissa Jane who married first Thomas Craycraft and second Joseph Newberry, and Albertha (Bertha) who married first George Fryman, Jr. and second Hutch Fryman (George's brother). The sons were William Newton who married Lucinda Holford (my g-grandparents) lived in Clermont and Brown Co., OH, Albert who married Frances Silman and lived in Hamilton Co., OH, Richard who married Sarah Thomas in Richland Co., IL, Andrew Johnson who married Delitha Fryman (sister to George, Jr. and Hutch) and lived in Pendleton Co., KY, George who married Lottie Wells and lived in Brown Co., OH, Charles married Angeline Pierce and after she died married Matilda Barnett in Richland Co., IL, John Samuel married Sarah Hill (daughter of a Matthew Thomas Hill and Mary Susan Florence) and lived in Clinton Co., OH. Two other sons were Noah and Peter who never married but lived and died in Bracken Co. Would like to find out about the parents of George and Catherine. When were George and Catherine born? When did they die? I know they deeded the farm to Noah and Peter in return that they would take care of them and give them a proper burial. Peter and Noah are buried in the Eden Ridge Cemetery in Bracken Co. according to their death certificates. Are there any records showing who else is buried in Eden Ridge? George was last found on the 1900 census for Bracken Co. and Catherine was last found on the 1910 census for Bracken Co. Have looked for their death certificates but have not been able to find anything. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Herb email: hill_h@hccanet.org
