Occupation: Carpenter Married abt 1893 in Canada to Lydia Martha STONE b abt 1877 West Gillsboro,,Ontario, Canada, d aft 1910 in Detroit, Michigan. I have a curious situation with James Franklin. I easily found the family on the Ontario, Canada 1901 census. James HILL age 50 occupation: carpenter Lydia 33 James F. 7 Eva P. 5 Ethel M. 3 Lilly May 2 Then I researched the area where his children were born (Grey Co, Ontario--I have copies of all their birth records but the youngest which won't be available for another year) for the 1891 census. Because of his age and since his oldest child wasn't born until 1894, I was hoping to find him 1) as a bachelor 2) as a boarder or 3) living with his parents. Instead I found: James HILL age 42 occupation: carpenter Mary 38 Maggie May 18 Minnie Edith 14 Lillia 8 Olive 1 I spent hours going through the entire county looking for James' possible siblings and there were no other Jameses that I could find! I need help. I am trying to find the parents of my gggrandfather, Morris HILL, who was born in NY abt. 1810/11 according to the White County, IL 1840 census. He died Jan. 20, 1861 in White Co., IL. He married Caroline Perryman in 1837. She was b. TN abt. 1820. Later he may have married a Celine/Selina Welch in 1853. She also was b. in TN abt. 1832. He had several children, Celista 1838, James A. 1840, Benjamin O.1842, Elizabeth 1844, Martha J. 1846, Julia, 1851, Mary 1852, also a Melissa who could be Elizabeth and Artemicia/Artenusia who were mentioned as an heir when he died. I am looking for any information on my HILL line: WILLIAM HILL was born in England about 1818. He married PAULINE DESSAUER in New York City in 1858. PAULINE was born about 1835 in Germany. They had a son WILLIAM A. HILL, who was born in 1859 in Galveston, Texas. He married MARY SPRAGUE, daughter of JACOB SPRAGUE and HELEN YOUNG, in New York City in 1883. They had 5 children all in New York City. MARY may have had an aunt or sister named MATILDA. I hope someone will recognize my Hills!

Who are ancestors of this HILL Family -- James B. Hill born circa 1816. in NH. (?) Who are his parents and grandparents-- need connection to NH family. James lived in Penobscot County, ME . Only information on family is with John Hill who is buried in Dorchester, MA (see below). I have a James Melvin HILL who was born 19 March 1819 in Lewis County, NY (east of Watertown) living in Erie County, OH in 1844 where he married Sarah M. PATCH. She was born in CT. James Melvin HILL's father was Ebenezer B. HILL. James' mother and siblings are unknown. James and Sarah moved from OH between 1847 and 1850. I wonder if it is possible that Stephen Hill (the elder) and Ebenezer B. Hill were brothers? Listers: I have not advertised my search for the Hill family for several weeks. So in case there are some new researchers out there, I will send out a new call for help on my search. I am looking for the ancestors and family of Dr. Moses Hill who was born in NY about 1783. I have no idea where in NY he lived but in early 1830s he shows up in LaGrange, Indiana. In 1832 his daughter Laura Hill married Washington Adams in LaGrange. Also, we think his son Moses N. Hill married that same year to Nancy Martin.
