    1. [HILL-L] Thomas N. Hill-Cannon/Coffee Co. TN.
    2. I am searching for the parents of Thomas N. Hill who was in Cannon/Coffee Co. Tennessee in 1855 when he married Elizabeth McCullough. He served in the Confederate Army, was captured and died in 1865 in a prisoner of war camp. I cannot find him other than in the 1860 census in Coffee Co.An LDS form has his middle name as "H" but I believe that is wrong. There has been rumors in the family that others in his family fought in the Union Army and that this caused a riff among the family members. Maybe no one wants to claim him? His widow married two more times-once to Thomas Harrold and again to Harman Frazier. She and Thomas Hill had two children: William Glasper and Mary Elizabeth. I have been stuck on this for several years any help would be appreciated. Lucy Parker

    3. Hi, You wouldn't happen to know if the child you mentioned (William Hill) married a Bette Sosby and then had a child named Adam Henry Hill (Born ~1871) who married a Nannie Marshall. They had 8 children, one of which is my grandfather - Homer Hill (born ~1903). There was also a John, Nettie, Minnie, Charlie, Bess, Susie, and Mary in addition to Homer. Most of these people are from the Cynthiana area in Harrison county. It is a long shot but you never know. I am trying to find information on Adam Henry Hill and his parents William Hill and Bette Sosby. They may have come to Harrison country KY from Nicholas county KY. 2. Nola Ochs
    3. Dear Woody, I believe my Hill line originated in Virginia, but I cannot document the statement---yet! That is the reason for my research! I want to know the immigrant's name and where he came from, with documentation! Traditionally, our Isaac Hill who married Mary Barnes in 1788 in Rowan County, NC, was a son of John W. Hill (married Margaret Logan in 1769, Rowan County, NC); John W. Hill, traditionally and according to old hand written records handed down several generations, was "a son of James Hill from England". From NC, Isaac Hill and Mary Barnes (parents of 9 sons and 2 daughters) migrated through TN and KY into White County, then into Hamilton County, Illinois in time for the 1820 census. Thanks for suggesting the idea---Nola (Hill) in KS. Woody H. 3. Hello all, I am trying to find connections to my HILL family. The eldest Hill I have is Robert F. Hill, b. 1807, PA, was listed as an undertaker in the 1839 Philadelphia City Directory. This family business continues until after 1914. Robert F HILL married a Sarah ?, b. 1805 PA. Their eldest son was named Stephen Tyng HILL, born 1841 in Philadelphia named afetr Stephen Higgingson TYNG, an Episcopal minister - perhaps Sarah's brother? Stephen Hill married Margaret ? abt 1869 and among their children was another Stephen Tyng HILL - b. 1870 in Philadelphia. My line is through his wife Anna Josephine RACINE. Does anyone have any information about this line of HILLs? I do not have information about my Stephen Hill after 1920 as Anna and Stephen divorced and there was no contact between the families after this. Thank you for any help, Georgeanne

    3. Birdie, Wheat is not that common of surname, I am sending along the original immigrant Moses Wheat descendancy chart (see cut and paste below) of what I do have on the Wheat family. I dropped the ball on following the Wheat family down further past the 4th generation who married into my Hartwell line and followed it down from there on Hartwell only. However, your Sarah Wheat is undoubtedly related to the original immigrant Moses Wheat who settled in Massachusetts and this definitely gives you a place to start searching the Wheat family, and that undoubtedly will lead you to the Hill marriage you seek.
