I am looking for the children's names of Thomas Hill 1797-1876 and Susannah Buster c.1797, b. Montgomery County, VA. They married 27 Feb 1817. Susannah's parents were born in N.C. and died in Kentucky. Thanks!
Dear Hill Researchers, A descendant of Isaac Hill, who married Mary Barnes in Rowan County, NC in 1788. has consented to take the DNA test for our Hill family, and I am excited to think of the possibility of determining the host of Hills to whom we are related! Isaac Hill and Mary Barnes had 9 sons and 2 daughter. I cannot imagine the number of Hill descendants there are today from those 9 sons! But this DNA test will distinguish descendants of Isaac Hill and Mary Barnes from other Hill families. if I understand things correctly. What a blessing that will be! Please consider the DNA test to determine if your branch of Hills originated with Isaac Hill who married Mary Barnes in 1788, Rowan County, NC. Traditionally, Isaac's father, John W. and his father, James Hill came to NC from Virginia. The 9 sons names were James, John W., William, Charles, George, Isaac Jr, Robert, Richard, and Andrew. .Richard is my forefather. Thanks to you all, Nola Hill-Ochs in KS..
Hi, Looking for information on James L. Hill, his brother Robert Hill of TN. James L. Hill had a Will probated in 1834 in Iredell Co., NC. He named his brothers Daniel and Robert and nephews Thomas M. and Miles Hill in the Will. Executors were David and Robert Hill of TN. I have information that Thomas M. and Miles Hill's father was Stephen Hill born 1771in NC and died July 14, 1830 in TN. He was married to Sarah Milligan. Stephen Hill had the following brothers, Abram born 1757, James born 1761, James born 1769, David born 1773, Robert born 1774 and Joseph born 1776. One of the James Hills may have been James L. and the other may have had Daniel as part of his given name, James Daniel or Daniel James. Also Daniel could have been part of Joseph's given name. Stephen's father was Robert Hill born 1739 in N. Ireland and died in 1800 in NC. Thanks, Adrian Hill

Good luck and happy hunting, Sandy Hill Bolton Round Rock, Tx.

Hello fellow researchers: As many of you know, the HILL/WEBB line is one of the most widely researched HILL lines. The DNA results of two HILL/WEBB descendants are now in and posted on the HILL DNA PROJECT website, but their DNA does not match. So, there is a problem somewhere in the branches. It will be of great service to all researchers if we had more participants in the DNA study who feel fairly certain of their lineage/connection to Robert Hill and Mary Webb. This will establish a DNA baseline on the HILL/WEBB family for comparisons, connect you with more researchers, eliminate other suspect lines, and possibly clear up some questions for the two researchers already involved. If you are (or think you may be) descended from the HILL/WEBB line, please consider participating. For information about the HILL DBA PROJECT, go to: http://www.livingston.net/hilldna/ Thanks for your help. Byron Hill
Hello again to all the Hills! I am still looking for the parents of my ggggrandfather Johnson S. Hill who turns up in the 1810 Federal Census and subsequent censuses. He was born in 1784.He died July 7 1868, and is buried in Black Creek Cemetary in Essex county, NY. Here is another puzzeler! In the 1850 Federal census he evidently told the recorder his birthplace was "NH", and in the 1855 NY state Census he told them his place of birth was "CT" and in the 1860 Federal Census he told them is place of Birth was "NC". Without a death certificate, how does one know where to search and who to search for? Brickwall. Appreciate any suggestions Wesley E. Hill
There seems to be quite a few Illinois Hills posting so I thought I would re-post my query. George W. Hill b 1822 Illinois d abt 1902 Arkansas. With all the Hill information (marriages, deaths, etc.) circulating on this mailing list, I thought I would put out a marriage that I have been searching ever so long for and then if anyone would happen to come across it, they would let me know. Joseph L. Bolin/Bowlin/Bolen and Mary Rebecca Hill. I have her in the 1850 Census in Maryland. Joseph is uncertain. I have him down as being born in 3 different states depending on what census you look at. (Indiana, Ohio and Maryland.) But, I am not limiting my look up on their marriage to these specific states. They were married as near as I can figure around 1865 and a lot of people were on the move at that time. So, I really would appreciate if the Hill researchers kept my Joseph and Mary in the back of their mind and maybe someday someone will run across this marriage record. Marvalene
