It's been very slow here so I thought I'd repost the surnames I am researching and hopefully someone has joined the list since my last post, who might have a connection to any of the following: 1. Joao Soares d'ANDRADE aka John Soares ANDRADE and Rosa da Estrela FARIA arrived in HI on 09 Sep 1882 aboard the SS Hansa with 3 sons, Mariano, Antone and Manuel. They had MANY more children here in HI. Antone was my ggrandfather who married "Katie" Paakai Nawahineelua. John died 26 Mar 1937 in Honolulu, at the age of 100 and was survived by 14 sons and 4 daughters. Lineage: me>mom>Katherine Andrade>Antone Soares Andrade>John and Rosa. 2. Nawahineelua (k) aka Nahinalua and Kaohumu (w) m.29 Jul 1873 in Laie, Oahu - divorced 12 Jan 1884 - had 2 daughters, 1) Paakai "Katie" Nawahineelua who married Antone Soares ANDRADE 19 Apr 1906 in Honolulu. She died 14 May 1908, 11 days after giving birth to my grandmother, Katherine Andrade aka Katherine Napua; and 2) Kaupena Nawahineelua who married Keliikeikiole(k) abt. 1891. Lineage: me>mom>Katherine Andrade>Paakai "Katie">Nawahineelua and Kaohumu. 3. William E. Wright (native of MA. according to his naturalization record) and Emily KAAUKAI aka Emily KAAUKAI LAKE, m. 22 Jun 1854 in Honolulu. Their children were Thomas Harris WRIGHT and William James WRIGHT. Although married, William J. had no issue. Lineage: me>mom>George Hutchison Wright>George Fox Wright>Thomas Harris Wright>William and Emily. 4. Thomas Harris WRIGHT (b. 05 Jul 1856 on Moloka'i) and Kailani KOO (b. abt. 1855-Honaunau - m. 1872 in Kealakekua - Children include William Ellis Wright, Sr.; Rosetta Wright m. Evan Hao; George Fox Wright m. Maryann Hutchison; Lucinda Kinia Wright m. David Kawaihalau Namakeha Kaeo; Charlotte Wright; Harris Ellis Wright m. Rose Honipua "Pua" Bright. Lineage: me>mom>George Hutchison Wright>George Fox Wright>Thomas and Kailani. 5. Henry KOO (b. abt. 1830) and Rebecca/Lipeka/Kailioha KAPAHUNUI/KAPAHINUI from Napoopoo & Honaunau (Children were Kahaawinui, Kailani, John Au, Kaeo and Loka); Lineage: me>mom>George Hutchison Wright>George Fox Wright>Kailani Koo>Henry and Rebecca. 6. PAAHANA (k) and KALE (w) from Lahaina, Maui (one daughter known for sure was my gggrandmother, Maraea Haumea Paahana aka Pahupu, b. Lahainaluna). Lineage: me>mom>George Hutchison Wright>Maryann Hutchison>Maraea Paahana/Pahupu>Paahana and Kale. 7. Ernest HUTCHISON (b. 20 Jan 1856 in Portugal) and Maraea PAAHANA/PAHUPU (b. unknown in Lahainaluna). Their daughters were Maryann (m. George Fox WRIGHT), Minnie (m. Herbert E. Newton); and Josephine (m. Frank Florencio Fernandes). Lineage: me>mom>George Hutchison Wright>Maryann Hutchison>Ernest and Maraea. 8. Manuel SOARES and Agnes BARRETT m. abt. 1887, children were Agnes (m. John Enos), Christian (m. Rosalia/Lokalia aka Helen Kaimi), John (m. Susan Armstrong), Frank (m. Alice Kakulu), Rose (m. Ah Choy Chun), Moses (m. 1-Hannah SPALDING and 2-Maryann Opunui), Samuel (m. 1- Margaret Maka, 2- Martha McCandless and 3- Martha Leimomi Wall; and Jones Baptist Soares (m. Myra Kaleiheana). Lineage: Me>my dad>Moses Soares>Manuel and Agnes. 9. "Maryann" Kealohapauole NAMAIELUA and 1) George Henry SPALDING (never married). Their children were George Henry Spalding aka Henry George Spalding, b. 04 Jul 1856 and David Spalding, b. Oct 1860. Maryann married 2) Kaopua Kaikihookama (k). David SPALDING m. 1) Lilia Wahinekapu AIWOHI on 05 May 1883; and 2) Lauae aka Any Tance?? daughter of Nakuana(k) aka Waikuaana and Kaima(w) aka Kaimu on 30 Dec 1900. David and Lilia had one son, Benjamin SPALDING. Benjamin SPALDING and Keao Namauu KUAMOO aka Elizabeth or Lizzie m. 08 May 1904 in Hilo. Their children were/are George Kaipoiliahi Spalding, Sr (d. Feb 1974); William Namauu Spalding (d. 30 Mar 1970); Hannah Spalding (d. 25 Dec 1933); William "Duckfeet" Holi Spalding (d. 29 Mar 1998); David #1 (d. 1916, infant); Elizabeth Keao Spalding (still living); Lily "Keonaona" Spalding (d. 06 Feb 1992); David Kewiki Spalding (still living); and June Kaahumanu Spalding (still living). Keao Namauu KUAMOO's parents were Namauu KUAMOO(k) and KAIEWE(w) aka Louise Kaiewe. Namauu's parents were KUAMOO(k) and HAUMEA(w). Louise's parents were KAIANUI(k) and KAHALEKAA(w).
