Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Wd.2ADI/89 Message Board Post: I am trying to find friends of my husbands' from the '40's during WWII. I believe Eleanor's last name was or is MOKO but may have the spelling wrong. She worked in a restuarant in either Pearl City of somewhere in Honolulu. She had a son named Jeff who was born about Sept of 1942 I think. I have the info at my home but I am about 200 miles from home & came across this research site & thought I'd see what I might find with a query. My hubby's name is Cecil but may have gone by his nickname of either Buzzy or Squeak but surname is Phillips. He went to Hawaii right after the Pearl Harbor attach and worked in the Civil area, with his last job being promoted to work in the underground communications system of Sinpack (spelling ?) He worked with Rear Admiral Furrlong and Admiral Nimitz. He returned to the USA in Oct of 1945 I believe. He was with Eugene Allison (Red) of south California, who became his brother in law in 1946. He spent several years over in Hawaii and tried & tried! to get back in touch with Eleanor & Jeff but when he was sent home having to pack for a quick trip home and lost all his pictures & addresses in the shipping. He had many, many pictures that were never recovered, as well as the friends he made over there. Eleanor & Jeff were very special friends and we have tried everything possible to find them. I am making the trip over to Maui, Hawaii the firsy of April, my first trip over, and I surely would like to find Eleanor & Jeff if possible. I think Eleanor must be around 80 & Jeff around 57 (guessing). I may be spelling Moko incorrectly or she may have even remarried so these are the only clues I have but will try for more if someone has a clue as to where they might be. Gratefully submitted; Lorraine (age 72)
