He married Matilda Adeline Smith, they had 4 children: Sarah Elizabeth Hicks, born 8/19/1892 William I. Hicks, born 6/23/1894 Lou Anne Hicks, born 11/23/1896 Dessie Marie Hicks, born 7/12/1898 GGrandpa left to go fight in the Mexican American war, never to return to GA. Instead, he divorced and remarried, living the rest of his life in MS. Does any of this sound familiar? I would love to find out anything on him - this is the brick wall I have run into. Who were his parents? Did he have brothers and sisters?
