My In-Laws are Gary and Janice Hicks, from Mountain Grove, Missouri, Wright County. Gary's father was Delbert Cecil Hicks, born in Alton, Illinois. His grandpa was Lewis Hicks, but they aren't sure where he was born and I don't have any dates on these people. Janice says that Lewis Hicks has a brother named William Lewis Hicks. Again, not sure where born, nor do I have any dates. They don't know a whole lot about this family line it seems and I guess that a lot of the older relatives are already dead. Before Delbert Cecil died he told Janice, my mother-in-law, that he was 2/4 Cherokee Indian and 1/4 German, but she has not had this verified to be factual yet. She would love to know if this is true. It seems that we may be in the same family here. The names are identical and they are in Missouri, so maybe we have a connection.
