I know that some descendants use the Hicks spelling but that seems to vary quite a bit. I looked up Hicks in the Lebanon City Cemetery (1857-1999) directory that I have. It lists Lewis Hicks and says that he died at age 63, the burial permit is dated 17 Sep 1940 [the directory gives the permit date when there is no date in the records or on the tombstone.] Ann
