I have no idea when John left KY and when he appeared in FL. I have found a John Hicks in FL in 1860. Whether this man is the same John Hicks, I would not know yet. On the 1860 census, John Hicks was listed as a RR Mast. FL RR. There is no paper trail. He died without a will according to courthouse records. No newspaper obits found.
