She was the daughter of Robert Hicks and Sarah Rives/Reeves. Her daughter Matilda Hicks Bell married Gabriel Tucker the son of Daniel Tucker of Elbert County, Georgia. Matilda was from North Carolina and she and Gabriel probably met and married when Daniel and Frances Tucker settled in NC for a while. Thomas Bell, Sarah's first husband was supposedly killed in the Revolutionary War. He was born in Scotland. Her second husband was Captain John Medearis. They had several children and eventually left North Carolina to settle on John's Revolutionary War land grant in what is now in Bedford County, Tennessee. He named the large plot of land Liberty Valley. Sarah died there in 1820.
