I have no information other than tax and census records. But a boy of Jesse's age does not fit any of the other Hicks of Russell county. And I think you have to assume he was from Russell Va judging by the names of Jesse's children. Aulse and his other son Hiram both stated they were born in Tenn. If Jesse stated that his father was born in NC it would still match because Tenn territory became part of NC in 1776. Charles and the other Hicks of Russell county claimed Va as their birthplace.
