Samuel Hixe, Senior married Diane Willis, and they had, among others, Goulder Hixe, Willis Hixe and Samuel Hixe, Junior. Samuel Hixe, Junior married Frances Wyatt, and they had, among others, another Willis Hixe and a Absolom Hixe, Senior. Absolom Hixe, Senior married Mary Harris and had, among others, Absolom Hixe, Junior and yet another/third Willis Hixe. Absolom Hixe, Junior married Theodosia Wynn. I don't know how much of the above is correct. I wonder where/why the name Goulder came in? Was that family/surname associated with the Hixe, Preston or Willis family prior to Goulder Hixe being born? Goulder Hix(e) was on the 1746 Goochland Co., VA tithe list (as were a few other Hix(e) men in separate households). An Edward, David and William Davi(d)son were also on that tithe list in Goochland in 1746 (but in a different district). There was a later Goulder/Golder Davidson in Henry Co., VA and then Patrick Co., VA. Also there were a couple of William Davidsons and a Richard Davidson (note: the name Richard had apparently never been used before in this Davi(d)son family). I believe that the William Davidson who was in Goochland probably married a Hix(e) women before moving to Buckingham Co., VA by 1764 (when Edward, David and William Davi(d)son appeared there). It looks like William Davi(d)son then moved to Henry Co., VA by 1777, and then that part of Henry became Patrick Co., VA by 1791. Goulder Davidson moved from Patrick Co., VA to Grainger Co., TN around 1803 or so, and he then moved to several other states before his death. The Davidsons were associated with the Willlis and Fields families in Patrick Co., VA, among a few others. In Charles City Co., VA in the 1720s, the possible father of the above Edward, David and William Davidson named David Davidson was associated with a Thomas Hix(e) on two different records. It might have been the same Thomas Hix mentioned above who was the son of John and Sarah (Preston) Hixe.
