My Hicks line was in Huntindon Co. and Centre Co. PA (Bellefonte area) in the late 1780's to 1800's. Isaac Hicks b. 1780 in Caroline Co. MD - d. 1845 buried Muncy Mt.; Thomas Hicks b. c. 1780 and Jacob Giles Hicks b. 1760 in Caroline Co. MD - d. 1850 in Indiana Co. Pa. They are the sons of James and Mary (Oxenham) Hicks; James was the son of Giles Hicks and Margaret (?) of VA and MD. Both Isaac and Jacob had sons names James, John, and Abraham. I just wondered if there was any connection to the other Hicks in that same area of Pa? Thanks! Jean Corio Tampa, Fl - twojcjc@aol.com

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Cei.2ACEB/4180 Message Board Post: I descend from David Hicks and Hannah Robertson (Robinson) as follows: David Hicks and Hannah Robinson of Warren Co., Ohio Rachel Hicks and Abraham Lowry of WC Ohio & Fountain Co., IN Jackson Lowry and Eliza Sweet of Clark Co., IL Henry P. Lowry and Elizabeth Myers Sarah Lowry and William Edward Crow Gertrude Crow and Edward Hille Marilyn Hille and H. E. Rogers Me--Linda Rogers Grinnell David died in Warren County, Ohio in 1803 leaving young children: Rachel, Samuel, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Ezra. Although I have found David's estate papers in Warren County I never have been able to find any papers for Rachel Hicks. Only recently when in Warren Co., Ohio doing research I realized that a Hannah Hicks married a Michael McCallister or McCollister. A light went off because I realized that if this was our Hannah remarrying, that was why I could never find any estate papers under her name of Hannah Hicks. I have ordered from the Genealogy group there any estate papers under the name of Hannah McCallister, etc. I hope this turns something up. I read David's estate papers the other day. In the index his will was listed but I never could find it despite help from the county archives employee. His was the first estate papers in the book in 1803. In this same vein, I am also trying very hard to determine if Ezra Robinson was Hannah's brother. I believe he was because I recently ordered and received the bounty land application papers for Abraham Lowry's widow, Rachel Hicks Lowry. In one of the depositions it stated that Ezra Hicks was her uncle. In the early tax records, there are two David Robertsons--a sr. and a jr. (1806-1807 I believe). I also asked the genealogy research guy to send me any wills or estate records for David Robertson since I didn't realize when I was there that he was Hannah's father. I am also trying to determine how a man named Capt. John Robinson fits into the mix. He was very closely involved with our Lowry's. Abraham's brother Fleming served in his War of 1812 unit and also married Capt. John's daughter, Anny. Abraham Lowry and Rachel Hicks married at Capt. John Robinson's home. And there are several other connections. Do you know if Hannah and Ezra had a brother John? I am looking forward to hearing from anyone researching these families. Because of extremely limited internet time right now, it would be much better for me if you would email me directly. Thanks! Linda Rogers Grinnell
