Glad to see your posting! Theodore was my dad's grandfather. (My Uncle T. E. Hicks just died this month... I think he was named for him) I have Theodore Hicks as born 22 April 1880 in Illinois; died 9 August 1963 at Sikeston, Missouri (probably in hospital since lived in Oran, Missouri-- I'll need to check with my dad! I was just a year old at the time!) Theodore married (spelling on their marriage license:) Rachael Jane Crossen. I need to scan the photocopy I ordered several years ago around 1996 from Arkansas. Rachael was born 13 Mar 1884 at Supply, Randolph county, Arkansas and died 14 Sep 1964 at Sikeston. Her parents were James Henry Crossen and Lucinda Dilbeck who married 15 Mar 1883 at Randolph county, Arkansas. Theodore and Rachael married about 17 Mar 1904, Clay county, Ar. Theodore is misspelled in the 1880 census: Census Place Grand Pier, Pope, Illinois. Much of the family stayed in Illinois. I'd love to have a copy of the Civil War record you have that shows William J's middle name as Jackson! Do you have it scanned? I have Rachael Crossen as granddaughter of James W Crossen and great granddaughter of Michael and Rachel Crossan. Was told Michael came to America via Sligo, Ireland to New York 1815. E-mail me! Cynthia Hicks Curtis @ thegolfgardener@sbcglobal.net or thegolfgardener@aol.com. The other addresses are on someone else's account and automatically delete before I can even check them! Thanks!
