Have you tried looking at http://worldconnect.genealogy.com database? There are 4 entries for this marriage. You can find several versions of Caroline's family tree there. John William Hicks was born 14 Feb 1820 in Painted Post, NY and died 24 July 1898 in Dearing KS. Married 1848 Caroline Hendershot b 25 Oct 1828 Pelham, Ontario who died 18 Apr 1862. Evidently this has to be a 1st marriage (tho called 2nd by one submitter). There is a list of 10 children by the second wife. Hello fellow HICKS Researchers. I hope that this finds you well and rested. Well, even though I am still working on dad's COBB and WEIR/WARE side... my most recent breakthrough was on mom's KINSLOW side. I started to work on my mother's side for a while after my second cousin gave my pop-pop's parent's names. He finally dug his family tree stuff and shared it with me. My connection to Nathan Hicks and his wife Na' Ye' He' is down some to Drury Ryan and his wife Sena Ann Walker through their daughter Rachel Ryan and her husband THOMAS KINSLOW. Thomas and Rachel (Ryan) Kinslow are my great-grandfather's - William Kinslow's parents. William married Rose Dougherty and one of their many children was my mother's mother Rosanne "Rose" Kinslow who married William Linder... my maternal grandparents. I have included some things that several of my cousins gave me. Well, now I know why HICKS always raised a flag with me... especially when it came to Nathan Hicks. The old family stories must have been buried way deep from my early childhood. I used to love hearing the old family stories from the old folks. Can you please share with me how your side of the connects with my side of this great family? What a wonderful birthday present... to finally connect here. Robert Henry Hicks married twice, a Martha Williams first, had two children and secondly, a Mary E. Lloyd/Loyd who was Cherokee through herr lines-Parsons, Twist, Bearpaw, Water Hunter, etc. I found this information also with the Cherokee Historical Society in OK. Now to prove John Hicks, our common ancestor, whose mother was supposedly, Gano, first wife of Charles Renatus Hicks. As you may know, John Hicks was educated by the Moravian's and later became a Baptist Minister, serving in two different churches and died at one of the churches. His wife and children moved and lived at Ft. Davis, AL. and she taught school, was known as a "Wester Woman". I would be interested in what others may have found and willing to share my information.

Not much on Caroline tho but she is listed by one source there. Strangley enough Findley can be spelled 5 different ways and one researcher considers Phindley the correct one. It turns out that Findley is a distant triple cousin of mine. This is not due to a HICKS connection but a MITCHELL one that also includes Presidents Bush, Bush and Taft. Herb

Caroline came with her parents to Boston June 1810 . She had a brother named Walter b. about 1803, a sister, Nancy b. about 1810 a brother b. 1812., named William Russell . Her parents, Findley and Theresa(or Ruth) were married 1800 in Liver pool, Queens County, Nova Scocia. Both died possibly New York. Can someone help me with this family?
