    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Cei.2ACEB/3541 Message Board Post: Please forward to all those you feel appropriate... To Whom it May Concern; I am the descendant of a person interred at the Hudson County Burial Grounds located in Secaucus, New Jersey. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority wants to move all 3,500 remains into a common grave. I do not believe the public has been notified of this topic enough. I have started a petition to help show support of the public being against this matter. Our online petition as well as our paper petition has been circulating for just two days now and has been getting tremendous response. I have sent a letter to the judge in charge of this case and await his reply. I want the right to speak to the judge about this case in court. I want the public to be well informed of this matter. I want your help in spreading the news of this situation. However, the last posting requires that I jump into the issue since it talks about Hicks family born in Lebanon, MO and that is own personal point of origin. I think that your reference to the 1920 census in Laclede Co. Il, Gasconade tsp was supposed to be Missouri. Do you know if you are related to Argales Parker Hix/Hicks (1829-1895) who is buried in the Lebanon City Cemetery?? Argales (also spelled many other ways) was originally from Camden County, just to the north of Laclede County. There are many Hix relatives from there and some still living there near Climax Springs, MO and Macks Creek, MO. Anyway, it appears that Argales moved to Laclede County to be near some of his offspring (my own great-grandmother). I have recently seen photos of Hix relatives that were taken in Lebanon, MO leading me to think that others were there for a while. Do you know if this Hix/Hicks family is related to Pearl Hicks Tooley?? Argales was the son of John H. Hix (also called "The Old Soldier") and he was born in VA (now W.VA) and it appears that he came to Missouri through Kentucky. Ann Carrington [email protected]

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Cei.2ACEB/3371.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Libby - I have heard, but have not seen the census records myself, that Lewis and Sarah (Booth?) Hicks are listed with some children in the 1910 census of Fayette Co. IL, Hurricane tsp. In 1920, Lewis is apparently listed in Laclede Co. IL, Gasconade tsp., with wife Frances (Tooley?), but not all of the children from 1910 are in the household (living with relatives?). Also in the IL state death records (on-line), there is a death record for a Sarah Hicks d. 23 Jul 1919 in Hurricane tsp, Fayette Co. I have included question marks as there could be more than one Lewis Hicks - the names of the enumerated children should clarify things. Also here is an obit. for a Jerry Tooley that might help clarify some things about Lewis Hicks' dau. Pearl, who is called Pearl Fullington in other obits. Note that Jerry Tooley has half-brothers named Fullington, from which you might conclude that Pearl Hicks mar. first Harry (Henry?) Tooley and then a Fullington, and that Harry Tooley may have also had another marriage (for Jerry Tooley to have half-brothers named Tooley). Tooley, Jerry: Jerry Tooley, son of Harry and Pearl Hicks Tooley, was born Jun 5, 1931, in Lebanon, MO. He departed this life Jul 6, 1990, in the Lake Ozark General Hospital, Osage Beach, MO, at the age of 59 years 1 month and 1 day. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Charlotte May Tooley; one brother Silver Tooley; and one sister Goldie Jones. Jerry is survived by one daughter Joyce Tooley, Kansas City, MO; 2 sons Jimmy and Jerry Lee Tooley, both of Kansas City, MO; his step-mother Mary Tooley, Hartville, MO; 1 brother James Tooley, Mountain Grove, MO; 7 half-brothers Henry Tooley, Edwards, MO, Wade, Tom and Bob Tooley, all of Hartville, MO, Larry Fullington, Mountain Grove, MO, Eddie Fullington, Ash Grove, MO, and Steve Fullington, Mexico, MO; 3 sisters Mary Ann Wilson, Mountain Grove, MO, Delsie Hastings, Mountain Grove, MO, and Frances Starks, Birch Tree, MO; one half-sister Ruby Kennedy, Mountain Grove, MO; 3 grandchildren; a number of nieces and ! nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Laclede County, MO, and at the age of 12, he moved with his family to the Hartville area. He had worked throughout most of his life as a logger and wood cutter. Jerry professed his faith in Christ and was a member of the Knobby New Hope Methodist Church in Edwards, MO. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery
