I am looking for connections to the following: William Hartung born in Hesse Cassel, Germany on July 24, 1835. Son of Christian and Catherine (Metz) Hartung. His father Christian was the burgomaster of Weidelbach for twenty four years. He was 28 years old when he emigrated through New York Harbor. On December 13, 1864, three months after coming to America (approx Aug/Sept 1864) , he married Barbara Oberich, whose birthplace was not far from him and who was the daughter of George and Marie (Fae) Oberich. She was a fellow passenger on the same vessel which brought Mr. Hartung to the US. (Vessel name unknown) They settled in Monroe Co., NY. I have additional descendant information.
