Hi My gr.gr.grandfather put down Gönnheim, Rhine as where born on civil war record. He put down Bavaria, as where born, on 1860 census. I am confused as to where this area was about 1823 and also in 1850 before he came to America. Would appreciate help. Thank you Marie Gönnheim
