Greetings from Michigan, USA! My ancestor is Eduard Roth. He was 15 years old when he emigrated 17 October 1863 on the ship Germania which left from Hamburg for New York. He was not with parents. On the passenger list composed at Hamburg Roth said he was from Reiskirchen in Kurhessen. Researchers are not able to find a Roth family in any of the two towns named Reiskirchen which are located in the state of Hessen today. It is possible that Roth did not tell the truth about the name of the village he came from. This is my question: Do the archives at Hamburg for emigration give information about the people who are leaving? If the archives can be useful to me, I wish to learn the postal address and the email address so that I can write for information. Thank you for your help.
