Hello This is my first posting to this list and my first foray in to German genealogy. I see that other messages have been posted in English so I hope this is OK! In the 1871 English census my great great grandfather's brother, James CREASEY, is living in Netherfield, Sussex, with his wife, Mary (& some children). Mary's age is given as 41 and her place of birth as Wadzlar, Germany (she was a naturalised British subject). I have googled on Wadzlar and google suggested Wetzlar, which I believe is in the Hesse region. The couple probably married prior to 1863 (birth of first known child) and don't appear to be on freebmd as yet. If anyone come across a likely marriage I'd be very interested to know.
