    2. Hello List - I have had some baptism records translated through the yahoo group (which I highly recommend). Sometimes when the maiden name of the mother of the child is given, an "in" is included after her surname. This is usually translated in brackets - e.g. Plazer(in), Schmitt(in). What does the "in" mean? Also, there are two men in the village with the same name (thankfully different wives names). One man usually appears with a very small "Son" above his name. Does this mean anything (such as the equivalent to junior in English)? thanks, Anita
