Hello All, I've got some clipping that are supposed to be from the Dillenburg Weekly Paper from a book by Ursula Hatzfeld entitled Von Dillenburg nach Texas; Die Auswanderung im Amt Dillenburg von 1845 bis 1846. I've tried running these through BabelFish, but think my lack of success my be due to the typeface that the newspaper used. Can anyone take a look at these for me or point me in a direction for translating them? Hi, Brian, This chart: http://immigrants.byu.edu/english/volunteer/german_alphabet_image.html was a big help to me in doing the same as you are attempting to do. It helped me with the old typefont so I could recognize the letters and then transcribe text into online translation engines. I use two online translators and an in-hand German-English dictionary to arrive at meaning; clunky, but it more or less works: http://www.systransoft.com/index.html http://www.freetranslation.com/ Don't despair; the more you do it, the easier it gets.
