Could someone help me find Homberg, Oberhessen? My family (Schildwaechter) were from this village. If anyone could help me locate it I would appreciate it. I know it's near Darmstadt. Thank you, Barbara Forsey

Darmstadt is not in Oberhessen, it is in Sarkenberg. However, in the former Oberhessen province of the Grand Duchy of Hesse-Darmstadt, there are two towns with the name of Homberg. One is south east of Marburg and about 7 km northwest of the Autobahn.
