Looking for information on Jacob BRAUN and Martha (WENZEL) BRAUN who immigrated from Hesse Kassel in 1847 to Phila., Pa. Jacob was born in 1822 and Martha was born in 1824 in Hesse Kassel. Jacob was a scissor grinder in Phila for many years. Bauer is another name associated with this family. They were of the Reformed faith. Can any one help with this family? Thanks.

Barbara I have a tenuous link to WENZEL, in that my ancestor Karl Edler married Catharina Völsing in Romrod (near Alsfeld, a bit west of Fulda) Hesse-Darmstadt on 13 Oct 1822. Catharina was a widow whose former husband was Peter Wenzel. This information is in the archives of the EV church in Romrod, along with other information on Peter Wenzel, an army bandsman. You might try the state archive in Darmstadt. Hope this helps.
