However, another Wattenheim is in Kreis Bad Dürkheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, not too far west of these places in Hessen. Bechtolsheim in is Kreis Alzey, Rheinland-Pfalz now. If this paper is referring to a time when this area was Rhein-Hessen, that may be another clue that the Wattenheim is the place in Kreis Bad Dürkheim. Dona Ritchie
