Loebenstein, d= en 3. April 1847. Johann Heinrich Mauhold. Pastor primar. dehigniet. Epkoriae Vicar" Is anyone familiar with Latin words "Sub Fidi pastorati" and with the tit= le/office of this person who signed? Hello Gisela: "sub fidi pastorati" is possibly "sub fide pastorale" = under pastoral faithfulness or diligence, referring to the manner in which Mauhold certified the accuracy of the record with the church book. "Epkoriae" doesn't appear to be a Latin word, but the second phrase might be: "Pastor primar(ius) designat(us) episcopalis vicar(ius)" = Head (or primary) Pastor, appointed episcopal vicar. An episcopal vicar was a cleric, priest or bishop who exercised responsibility and authority over certain affairs within a diocese. Paul C. Miller
