Information from g.grandfather's(1870) and his sister's(1874) marriage certificates: Their parents names: George Brunner and Eva Roth Naturalization Petition(1854): George Brunner(address within blocks of before mentioned certificates) Witnessed by George Schroeder(Schroeder applied on same day with Geo. Brunner as witness; also gave same address) Immigration records: George Schroeder immigrated from Liverpool to New York via ship, Manchester; with family: wife, Sophia, Daughter, Anna Marie; and son, George landing Sept, 1846. Ge. "Baumes" with wife, Eva; daughter Katherine; and son, Johann immigrated from Liverpool to New York via ship, Atlas to New York landing Sept. 1846. From LDS site: records from Evangilisch, Großzimmern, Starkenburg, Hessen: George Brunner married Eva Roth Oct 10, 1841. Recorded births: Female born Mar 25, 1842; Katherine B. March 26, 1843; Johann Christened Feb 8, 1846. George Schroeder married Sophia Wonderschmidt May 31, 1840. Recorded births: George christened April 15, 1845. Through Google search: United States had asked Germany in 1838 to stop emigrating paupers and criminals; Großzimmern created scandal by sending same to Liverpool then sending to United States in 1846; one of the ships mentioned was the Atlas. Would like to confirm families sent from Großzimmern in 1846 included the family of George and Eva Brunner. Does anyone know if any lists in existence?
