Edward ROTH emigrated from Germany via Hamburg on the ship Germania in July 1863 at the age of 15. The emigrant passenger list lists ROTH as from Reiskirchen in Kurhessen. In later years ROTH told his family that he had left Germany at a very young age to escape military conscription. We know nothing more about him except that his birth date is 17 October 1848. His children were baptized Catholics in America and he was given Catholic burial. He was not married in the Catholic church in 1878, however. I am trying to establish the precise locality or parish where his family was living in 1863 so that I may attempt to do the research myself into his ancestry. Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
