Hello Frank, In my cousin's Kunkel database, there is one Katharine SCHOBORG b May 1865, in Germany; she married Christopher Kunkel (b Marshall Co IA 1863-d Marshall Co IA 1931). They married in Nobles Co MN. We have no parents for Katharine, but Christopher's parents were Killian KUNKEL b 1831 in Rothenbach, Hesse GER d 1901 Marshall Co IA & Elizabeth EHMER b 1831 Bavaria d 1907 Marshall Co IA. They married in Miami Co IN. Just thought it might help to know a different spelling of a similar name. janet THE KUNKEL KUNKLE CONKLE GUNKEL 'SPINDLE' NEWSLETTER PO BOX 4001, COVINA CA 91723-0401 Monday, March 1, 2004, 8:25:16 AM, you wrote: FJ> My g.g.grandfather was Henry S.(?) Just for future reference: There is no Sh or sh in German. Everything which is spelled like that in English is in fact Sch or sch. So the family name here would be "Schober". Heinz
