They were all born before the marriage but I don't think that is conclusive. In 1900 Margaretha indicates she had given birth to 3 children and all three are still living. It is likely she is not the mother but I can't seem to find anything about her children or his. It is possible that she married in Bensheim. I have not reveiwed all those marriages yet. The records for Bensheim only go up to 1875 so there's no assurance she will be there, but I will order that film anyway. My family didn't dome to the US until 1882 and if Margaretha was married at the time, I have know way of knowing what her married name was. I only discovered who Margaretha was yesterday and I guess I was looking for a short cut.
