For years we thought they were Huguenots then another researcher told me they were really waldensians. I need to do some more research to see if the two groups were related in some way. In an old journal written between after 1953 one of the relatives referers to the Berts as huguenots. It was my understanding they moved from Italy to France and then Germany because of religous prosecution.
