    3. Nancy, I have a Stephan Family in Bensheim. My G/grandfather had a brother- Johan Jacob Stephan b1815 in Lampertheim D1890 in Bensheim - Hesse-Darmstadt. I know very little about him though. Most of this family Immigrated to the U.S. There were siblings also - Philippina b1817, Hartman b1831, Daniel b1834 that I have not been able to find anything on. If anyone knows about these four individuals born in Lamperthiem, please let me know. Gene (Stephan)Stevens Thx, Geno > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Sat, 7 Mar 2009 07:49:35 -0500 > Subject: [HESSE] Hesse-Darmstadt (Bensheim) > > I am just sick. I've been working with Catholic baptismal records from Bensheim (1823 - 1869) and have found several families living in the United States. But, it seems, no one else is working on them. I would love to find descendants so I can share the information with them. Families specifically are the SCHACHNER's in St. Louis and Louisville; and PFLEGER's in NYC and Northampton Co., PA. > > One example is August SCHACHNER who was born in Louisville. He was a famous surgeon and writer. One of his passport applications identifies his father as Franz Joseph SCHACHNER of Bensheim. I have a copy of Franz's baptismal record in 1825. > > Anyone working on families from Bensheim? > > Nancy > >
